What Should I Do if I Chip My Tooth?
Chipped teeth are a common issue. If you or your child chipped a tooth, please give Sundance Dental Care a call at 623-936-6665, and we will schedule you for an emergency dental appointment in Phoenix, Arizona, to get you in to see our dentists as soon as possible. We will ask you a series of questions regarding the chipped tooth to get a better understanding of the situation. These questions might include:
Are you in pain?
A chipped tooth will not always cause pain or discomfort. Small chips in the teeth can go unnoticed for a long period of time. A larger chip can cause discomfort instantly. If you are experiencing pain, make sure to let us know so we can quickly get you in to receive the care you need.
Are you bleeding?
Call us to make an appointment immediately if you are bleeding. Bleeding can tell us that the damage is more serious than what it appears to be. Rinse your mouth out with warm salt water, if the bleeding continues, come straight into our office.
Was it your tooth or your child’s?
Our dentists, Dr. Rebecca Schaffer and Dr. Mai-Ly Duong, can treat patients of all ages, so it is important we know who chipped their tooth. A patient’s age will determine our treatment recommendations. Children are more sensitive to discomfort, and we want to make sure we treat their needs in a timely manner.
